Assessment
Do you want to know where you stand on your hardware/firmware development and integration efforts? Do you suspect or know that some aspects need improving? We can conduct an assessment of your organization to determine what areas need focus. E-mail or call 208-939-6984 to request an assessment or learn more.

Specification Review
Would you like to avoid chip respins and firmware development delays? We will review your chip specifications to look for potential problem areas. We will compare your specifications against an in-depth best practices checklist from our Hardware/Firmware Interface Standards. We will review your block- or chip-level external (not internal) specifications that are given to firmware to develop device drivers. We can review specifications for new or leveraged blocks, although reviewing new blocks will provide you with more flexibility for change without being forced to consider backwards compatibility issues.

Our written specification review report will include the results of the checklist review, including where the specification does well and where it could use some improvements. E-mail or call 208-939-6984 to learn more or to request a quote. If requesting a quote, include the approximate number of pages and registers in the specification.

“Thanks to your inquisitive and creative nature, I think we have together arrived at a couple of significant hardware contributions that improve the firmware interface and control.” Jack Meador, Hewlett-Packard Co.

Troubleshooting
Do you have a difficult problem in your embedded product that you are unsure if it is in hardware or firmware? Are you experiencing intermittent failures? Do you have a problem and are trying to avoid a respin? We have been successful in avoiding millions of dollars in development costs, chip respins, product recalls, and lost customer orders by diagnosing and resolving problems. We love a challenge. E-mail or call 208-939-6984.

“I think, again, you have solved one of the toughest problems for us with your expertise and dedication.” Ray Xu, Hewlett-Packard Co., Shanghai, RPC

General Consultation
Do you have questions on how to architect your embedded systems product? Are you trying to figure out the best hardware design for firmware? Are you trying to figure out how to get your hardware and firmware teams to work together? E-mail or call 208-939-6984. Ask about a free, no obligation, ˝-hour phone consultation.

Training

The Seven Principles Presentation
We will give a presentation on The Seven Principles of Successful Hardware/Firmware Interface Design. These seven principles guide your engineers in their design decisions and help them determine what the best practices should be in each situation. This 1- to 2-hour presentation can be tailored for managers and/or engineers. E-mail or call 208-939-6984 to schedule a presentation.

Best Practices Workshop
This 3- to 4-day workshop could save your company as much as $1,000,000 by providing your engineers with a customized set of best practices. See workshop for more details.

“Gary demonstrated a high level of professionalism and skill in developing and delivering a detailed training for the HP engineering team.” Arch Call, Hewlett-Packard Co.
